Romance
Today I am left thinking what exactly happened to romance between men and women? When did we take such separate paths? Surely something can be done. more later.

Changing My Middle Name to Hussein?
Being a Facebook junkie, I have noticed several of my friends changing their middle name to Hussein in solidarity with Mr. Obama. I like this idea, and will do it as soon as I can figure out how I can go about this. I will be Jessica Hussein Cox. I like it. I am sure I will make my right wing, same birthday as GWB, guns and God loving Uncle in Georgia will love me even more than he does already. Thanksgiving dinner here I come!
Here is a little something from Salon on the matter:
"Now let us take the name "Hussein." It is from the Semitic word hasan, meaning "good" or "handsome." Husayn is the diminutive, affectionate form. (I think we can agree Obama meets these standards?)
Figures.....see previous entry re: Mr. McCain's outright denial of his roots and future.

Barack Obama's middle name is in honor of his grandfather, Hussein, a secular resident of Nairobi, Kenya. Americans may think of Saddam Hussein when they hear the name, but that is like thinking of Stalin when you hear the name Joseph. There have been lots of Husseins in history, from the grandson of the prophet Mohammed, a hero who touched the historian Gibbon, to King Hussein of Jordan, one of America's most steadfast allies in the 20th century. The author of the beloved American novel "The Kite Runner" is Khaled Hosseini.
But in Obama's case, it is just a reference to his grandfather.
It is worth pointing out that John McCain's adopted daughter, Bridget, is originally from Bangladesh. Since Hussein is a very common name in Bangladesh, it is entirely possible that her birth father or grandfather was named Hussein.Figures.....see previous entry re: Mr. McCain's outright denial of his roots and future.
Is Sarah Palin Over? A question from an overseas reader.
Does the bear shit in the woods, is the Pope Catholic? Well, just today reports on Mrs. Palin's generosity on the behalf of the Alaskan people to pay her kids airfare to the tune of $22,000 was revealed. This item is coming on the heels of the investigation which concluded that she also used her influence and Governor's office to have her former brother-in-law fired. Americans don't like cheaters - especially with their money! Mix that up with inciting racial violence and threats against Obama's life - it's going to take more that a SNL appearance and a down syndrome baby to get her out of this pickle. Yes, Virginia, Palin is over.

John McCain is Not A Nice Man: Winner of the First Miss Liberty Blackface Award for closet Racism
McCain dissing his own flesh and blood? Some of McCain's black relatives support Obama and of course the press took the time to dig them up. Why? Because they are his slave cousins, McCain spawns from Slave owning older generations of McCains.... Apparently, he's gone to the reunions before.. why not now? I think John needs to read the book Covering: Assault on Our Civil Rights by Kenji Yoshino ... and learn for himself that nothing, nothing, nothing is really going to change until we all start telling the truth about who we are! John, only the truth will set you free!
BY ELGIN JONES
In the rural Teoc community of Carroll County, Miss., where the ancestors of Sen. John McCain owned enslaved Africans on a plantation, black, white and mixed-race family members unite every two years for their Coming Home Reunion, on the land where the plantation operated.
Some of McCain’s black family members say they are not sure exactly where they fall on the family tree, but they do know this: They are either descendants of the McCain family slaves, or of children the McCains fathered with their slaves.
White and black members of the McCain family have met on the plantation several times over the last 15 years, but one invited guest has been conspicuously absent: Sen. John Sidney McCain.
“Why he hasn’t come is anybody’s guess,” said Charles McCain Jr., 60, a distant cousin of John McCain who is black. “I think the best I can come up with, is that he doesn’t have time, or he has just distanced himself, or it doesn’t mean that much to him.”
Other relatives are not as generous.
Lillie McCain, 56, another distant cousin of John McCain who is black, said the Republican presidential nominee is trying to hide his past, and refuses to accept the family’s history.
“After hearing him in 2000 claim his family never owned slaves, I sent him an email,” she recalled. “I told him no matter how much he denies it, it will not make it untrue, and he should accept this and embrace it.”
She said the senator never responded to her email.
John McCain, this behaviour is just plain bad manners! Shame on you.
